Individual units were found to be out of specification: the products are being recalled because of certain good manufacturing deficiencies related to a lack of documentation of the fill line and not related to any complaints related to sterility. Unlike some other eye drop products, the recalled eye drops contain benzalkonium chloride as a preservative. No illnesses or other adverse events have been reported from the use of any of the recalled lots. This is not a product safety concern.
